We interrupt this startling lack of nothing to bring to your attention the obvious: Tis Christmastime in the Valley. For those of you who don't really do Christmas, what with the Hanukkah or the Solstice or the boycotting or whatever reason, the Valley, well, she snubs you.

To join us in our yearly celebration of the season, you should have begun reading Evil Twin arc. I prefer to begin with A Night To Remember and then speed read all the way to The Evil Twin and then the Return of the Evil Twin, but you might want to just skip to the good stuff since it's not like you don't know full well what happens. Nothing says Christmas in the Valley like murder and mayhem. Of course, technically you could let the Evil Twin books slide til New Years, but for some reason I associate them more with Christmas. I blame the cover art myself.

But to truly get the full insanity of the book juggling, you should also be reading Magic Christmas as it might be the best SV book ever. If anyone can tell me what movie/book/acid trip they're borrowing heavily from, I'd be grateful. But I said juggling, so you need a few more on your plate. I'm fond of Big for Christmas, although it's not all that... Christmas-y, aside from the cover. A Christmas Without Elizabeth is pretty good, unless you really do want a world without Liz but you don't want it to be pretty much Apocalyptic. I think of the book and I keep thinking that Liz-less world is all grey and somber and there's smog everywhere. I... don't tend to do this one for my holiday crunch. I do try and squeeze in The Christmas Ghost and The Year Without Christmas because it's just not Christmas unless someone's messing with younger Jessica after she's been a right royal bitch. Ahh, good times.

The best friend and former roommate says I should include SVU's Home For Christmas, if only for the cover that perplexed her for years. To show how faithful she is to this book, it is the only non-Pike book that I had to promise not to appropriate even though she's left it here for the last five years. It's been entrusted to me for safekeeping.

So, the big three [Evil Twins and Magic Christmas] are how I do the holidays right. What about you?

And seriously, the fun will resume shortly once I get off my butt and go find where I put Pretenses.

Oh man, I just finished rereading 'The Evil Twin'. Holy hell, that book is awesome!

How's that for perfect timing? All hail The Evil Twin! It makes me a little sad that the book is so awesome in that nothing afterward managed to live up to it and yet, well... Margo was a gift from the ghostwriting gods.

That whole arc was the best damn part of SVH, and what drew me back to the books after a good 10 or so years of not even thinking about them. Finally finding a copy of #98 when I went on a recolleting spree probably made me happier than it should have, LOL.

I know! Nothing could ever top it. Margo was a queen - I really wished she had managed to get ol' Lizzie and take her place!

Every year some part of me wishes that just once Margo will succeed, or, if that can't happen, I can find some fanfic that says she does.

Oh please, oh please, oh please say there is some fan fiction where she succeeds!

At the end of the Evil Twin, I can see 137 different ways that Jess or Liz could have been done away with. That whole part where Margo thinks to herself 'Killing Liz would be like killing MYSELF!!' is such a cop out. You know someone like Margo would be like 'whatevs' and stab her anyway!

See, for Margo, you'd think killing herself, the old, Bad Margo would be a good thing. :P So yeah, the twins should've been replaced. They could have written their way out of it at a later date.

And as of yet, I haven't found a fic with Margo or even Nora managing to off the perfectly perfect ones. :(

I don't think I've ever gotten to read Magic Christmas (that's a Twins book, right?), and I'm pissed, because it sounds seriously awesome from various summaries.

To do Christmas right, though, you have to read The Evil Twin. You're making me miss my collection so bad right now, LOL :)

Muhaha! My evil plan is working perfectly then.

A life without having read Magic Christmas? Man, if I had a double, I'd share the alternate reality love.

It's probably the only 'classic' SVT book I managed to miss reading. I don't know how...or why...but now that it's out of print and the resellers are asking top dollar for it, all I know is that I can't afford a copy of my very own :-/

Mwerp! I'll keep an eye out for one [occasionally they cross my path but probably only because I didn't need one] and if I find one, it shall be yours. No one should live a life without the best of the twins books if it can be avoided.
